At the time, that line came straight out of my subconscious mind, so I had no idea what it even meant and how incredibly significant this line really was: “Third/3rd Division” was one of three Air Divisions in the U.S. Army Air Force freshly created in late 1943. The Command structure was very different before that. Interestingly enough, which Air Division a member belonged to was rarely relevant or mentioned daily — unless significant changes were made to the structure. That kind of news was absolutely shared by The Brass.

Important detail

As you can see on the photograph I made of the tags, I spelled it as “3e DIVISION” — which is the Dutch spelling for 3rd.
